LostPlacesIndex is a community-driven archive that documents abandoned, forgotten, and historically significant locations worldwide. The Site allows registered users to submit place entries, upload photographs, and engage with community content. The Site is ad-supported and free to use.

Accounts are created via Google OAuth. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must not share credentials or allow others to use your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

By submitting content (text, images, coordinates, descriptions), you grant LostPlacesIndex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and archive that content. You represent that you own or have the right to submit all content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.

We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion, including content that is inaccurate, harmful, or in violation of these terms.

• Submitting false, misleading, or fabricated location data
• Uploading content that promotes trespassing, vandalism, or illegal activity
• Scraping, crawling, or automated data extraction without written permission
• Impersonating other users or entities
• Attempting to circumvent security measures or access restricted areas
• Uploading malware, viruses, or harmful code

All original Site content, design, logos, and software are the property of LostPlacesIndex and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. User-submitted content remains the property of the submitting user, subject to the licence granted above.

LostPlacesIndex documents locations for historical and archival purposes only. We do not encourage, endorse, or facilitate trespassing or illegal entry. Many documented locations are dangerous. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LostPlacesIndex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or any content thereon. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for free users, is zero).

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
