When you create an account via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We store this information in your user profile to personalise your experience.

We also collect usage data such as pages visited, places submitted, and interactions with the Site, to improve our service and for analytics purposes.

• To moderate content and enforce community guidelines

LostPlacesIndex is ad-supported. We work with third-party advertising partners who may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to serve you relevant advertisements based on your browsing activity. These third parties operate under their own privacy policies.

Browsing and exploration activity on LostPlacesIndex is never tied to your identity in public listings. Your exploration history is private and is not shared with other users or third parties for profiling purposes.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Site (hosting, analytics, moderation)
• Advertising partners for ad serving (see Section 3)
• Law enforcement when required by applicable law

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the Report Centre.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase, and access controls. No system is completely secure; use the Site at your own risk.

LostPlacesIndex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. To exercise these rights, use the Report Centre.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice on the Site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
